There was a knock at my front door. I quickly checked myself in the mirror, threw my hair up into a pony tail and ran downstairs.
"I've got it Mum," I yelled as I pulled open the door. There standing before me, in all his glory, was Josh.
"Hello there," I said.
"Hello right back."
"Don't just stand there, come on in." I moved aside and he passed me, carrying his guitar in. "We have a storage room upstairs with all my music stuff in it, so we can practice up there."
"Awesome, sounds good."
Mum came into the entryway just as we started walking up the stairs. "Why hello there, it's nice to see you again Josh." I shot Mum a 'no, not now' lo
The boys slowly disbursed from the practice, leaving Josh to pick up the slack and put away all the equipment.
"Hey do you need some help?" I asked.
"No I should be good," responded Josh.
"Well I should probably be getting home. Do you have a phone I can borrow to call my Mum to ask her to come and get me?"
"Yer there's one in the kitchen, but I'm more than happy to drive you home."
"No Josh, you don't have to. She said she would pick me up."
"Well it saves her having to come out here and get you. Plus I need to go into town to get some supplies, so it's no hassle."
"Ok then, ill just call her and ask." As I walked into the kitchen, th
Two boys walked into the garage. They were both quite tall and thin. Almost simultaneously they walked over to Josh to say hi. Then almost at the same time they realized I was sitting there and I could see them question my presence.
"Josh, you didn't tell us you got yourself a girl?" said one of the boys, punching Josh in the arm.
"Wait man, how did u even meet a girl?" The other added.
"Guys, this is Hayley. Hayley, this is Jeremy and Jason." Josh latched onto the arm that Jeremy had just punched and swayed nervously, seeming anxious to introduce them to me.
"Hi," I said. The two boys responded with a typical teenage boy nod.
"Hayley is
"Um hi," I stuttered shyly.
"You must me Hayley, right."
I just sat there, staring into those amazing eyes. I prayed I wasn't making it obvious, but there isn't that many ways you can make drooling over someone inconspicuous.
My mum nudged my arm, "Yer I'm Hayley," I said coming out of my daze. I could see that his body was starting to shake from being in the rain, "Well should we head inside?" I asked.
"Yer come on in," he opened the car door for me. Wow I don't think I've ever seen a man so courteous.
I said a quick goodbye to Mum and jumped out of the car, running behind Josh up to the house. He opened the door in front of me and let
Rain. I love it. The way it falls on your face, falls on everything. It changes things, has an ability to cover every inch of ground and make something unique out of it.
I mean I'm not depressed. Not 'emo' or suicidal. I just like rain. And to tell you the truth, I don't get the connection with rain and misery. Nothing makes me happier than to wake up and hear the faint tapping above me, to sit up and notice that the trees outside my window are dripping.
Today was one of those days. As the car ploughed through the puddles on the road, I couldn't help but stare out the window and smile.
I wasn't till that moment that I noticed that this sce
